So far, eighteen people have filed a lawsuit against Boeing, General Electric, and American Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs allege that defective materials were used to construct the engine, and that employees from American Airlines acted negligently during the evacuation from the burning plane. A representative from General Electric could not be reached for comment, and a representative from Boeing declined to respond to requests for comment. However, a spokesperson from American Airlines released the following statement on November 15:<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe\u2019re proud of our pilots, flight attendants and other team members who responded quickly to take care of our customers under very challenging circumstances. American is actively participating in the National Transportation Safety Board\u2019s investigation and will continue to work with the NTSB and the other parties to the investigation of this event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Twitter account Flight Alerts (@FlightAlerts777) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KeriWal26159012\/status\/792105567644942336\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted a video on the day of the incident<\/a> showing a massive cloud of smoke billowing from the burning plane as emergency vehicles arrived at the scene.\n<\/p>\n<p>Power Rogers is a personal injury firm based out of Chicago, IL.
